travel south pacific new zealand bay of islands stone store at kerikeri
DESIGNER: JOHN HOBBS (1836)

We stopped briefly at Kerikeri to see the Stone Store, the oldest surviving stone building in New Zealand.
It replaced a wooden storehouse and was intended to be the base of the Chuirch Missionary Society's trading post.
It was constructed by mason, William Parrott, Ben Nesbitt, and a team of Maori.
